How Strike Came Through For An Epic Marlin Chase

When a tropical storm hit, and a marlin was quite literally on the line, Strike footwear came through for Craig Maas and his fishing charter team.

His adventure began when he got a call from a friend, mentioning a company that wanted to go on a fishing charter. The owner of the company, being no other than Stephen Palmer, founder of Strike. Aboard the Rampala Fishing Charter at Sodwana Bay, Craig got to know Stephen and friends - a lively group of fishermen who live for the craft.

After four days of tricky water and no catch, suddenly, they found themselves deep in the ocean and dealing with a tropical storm.

But the storm did not curb the excitement, for later that day, when the blue water was 26 degrees, and the bait fish were jumping, a true prize lurked beneath.

Craig yelled, “Marlin under the bait!” and the crew set into action as the reel clicked. Cries of excitement were sung on deck as this stunning blue marlin leapt behind the boat. After the third jump, the trace snapped, and the marlin was lost.
